Position: Purchasing Manager (CIPS)

Location: Southport

Hours: Monday - Friday

Salary: �40,000p/a Circa

Our client is a large manufacturer that is currently looking for a Purchasing Manager preferably within the Pharmaceutical and, or Chemical industry, the successful candidate will be based in Southport and will be required to visit their other site in Widnes from time to time.

Duties:

Provide a proactive and qualitative Purchasing function to the organisation covering an approximate �12 million spent per annum.

Work with the company's established management to successfully achieve cost savings through strong negotiation with planning, warehouse, and suppliers and maintain/develop a robust stock control system.

Ensure that the organisation is strategically equipped to achieve and exceed organisational objectives via means of appropriate purchasing strategy, ordering processes, supplier selection, supplier management and implementation of projects etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

CIPS Qualified. (Chartered Institute Procurement and Supply)

Experience in Pharmaceutical and/or chemical procurement within a regulated environment would be an advantage.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail.

Professional manner when dealing with suppliers and colleagues alike.

Ability to manage various personal and team priorities at the same time.

Ability to manage & deliver time-based workloads, sometimes in difficult & complex situations.

Experience managing international suppliers is an advantage.
