As well as Buxton this role is easily accessible from Sheffield, Derby, Manchester, Stoke, Chesterfield, Stockport, Macclesfield, Congleton, Matlock, Leek, Whaley Bridge and the surrounding areas.We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Role ResponsibilityReporting to the Procurement Manager, the role of Purchasing Manager (Site Services) is responsible for overseeing the purchase of site services across the Buxton area sites with a spend value of over £15m. You will also be accountable for monitoring and addressing the quality and compliance of services provided by contractors.The role of Purchasing Manager (Site Services) will also be responsible for (not exhaustive):Overseeing a large number of suppliers that provide services to Tarmac including hire of plant, vehicles and equipment; cleaning, laundry and welfare services; waste disposal; safety, health and environmental services; and civil and engineering servicesCompliance with commercial contractsEnsuring timely and efficient end to end purchasing processes, resolving issues that may ariseManaging the quality and suitability of the services providedSupplier Performance Management to ensure suppliers meet their obligationsEnsuring competitive pricing and value for moneyProviding analysis and statistics to support decision makingControlling spend and minimising administrative workloadSharing best practice to optimise performance and coaching other colleagues as requiredThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Purchasing Manager (Site Services) will possess contractor procurement management experience gained working within a similar industry including manufacturing, heavy industry or site based environment.Suitable candidates for the role of Purchasing Manager (Site Services) will have:Strong working knowledge of end to end purchasing processesProven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levelsStrong interpersonal skills to communicate, manage, effectively influenceConfidence to challenge appropriatelyAbility to analyse data effectively and recommend appropriate actionsCapable of handling multiple tasks and prioritiesProblem solving approachResults driven – ensure right service, right time and right priceStrategic mindset to focus on long term optimisationIT literate (including MS Excel)Why UsIn addition to the role of Purchasing Manager (Site Services) we offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives, and benefits:Enhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities inc.
