Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be responsible for accurately recording and processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining supplier relationships. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Assist in month-end and yearend closing procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding financial transactions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Groundworks experience is desirable, but not essential
  • Relevant accounting qualifications or working towards such qualifications is an advantage
