Publishing Editor

We have an exciting new Publishing Editor role with a leading international academic publisher of high-quality journals, to join their Hybrid Journals team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in scholarly publishing to take on a specialist role and manage a growing portfolio of multi-disciplinary journals.

This role can be partially home-based, with around 1 day a week attending London office.

The appointed Publishing Editor will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Actively manage journal editor performance, ensuring best practice with regard to manuscript submission and peer review

• Analysing and managing the profitability of journals, preparing comprehensive reports and metrics to facilitate decision-making on journal development strategies

• Negotiate editor and society contract renewals
• Preparing P&L statements
• Leading journal editorial board meetings

The ideal candidate should have experience running a portfolio of academic journals, along with strong project management and presentation skills. Excellent stakeholder management skills are particularly essential when liaising with senior academics and editors.
