Public Liaison Officer (PLO) - Part-Time (2-3 days/week) - Three-Month Contract



Overview:

We are seeking a Public Liaison Officer to join our clients team on a part-time basis for the next three months. As a construction contractor committed to social responsibility, this role plays a crucial part in engaging with the public and collaborating with external agencies to ensure the successful delivery of our social commitments.



Key Responsibilities:



Public Engagement:



Develop and execute strategies for engaging with the public to enhance awareness of our civil engineering projects and social commitments.

Represent the organization at community events, public meetings, and other forums to communicate project updates and address concerns.



Third-Party Agency Collaboration:



Establish and maintain productive relationships with schools, colleges, charities, employment agencies, and regional council teams.

Coordinate with external partners to align their expertise and resources with our social commitment goals.



Educational Institutions (Schools and Colleges):



Collaborate with schools and colleges to create educational programs and initiatives that promote civil engineering awareness and career opportunities.

Organize site visits and informational sessions for students interested in the construction industry.



Charities:



Partner with charitable organizations to identify and support community projects aligned with our social responsibility objectives.



Facilitate volunteer opportunities for our team members to contribute to charitable initiatives.



Employment Agencies:



Work with employment agencies to promote job opportunities within our organization and provide information on career pathways in civil engineering.

Support initiatives that enhance employability skills within the local community.



Regional Councils and Teams (RCT):



Engage with regional councils and teams to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards for civil engineering projects.

Collaborate on community development initiatives that align with our corporate social responsibility goals.



Reporting and Documentation:



Maintain detailed records of public engagement activities, collaborations with third-party agencies, and project outcomes.

Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders highlighting the impact of our social commitments.



Qualifications and Skills:



Previous experience in public liaison or community engagement roles, preferably within the construction or civil engineering sector.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
