The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit has an opening for one Full-Time(1.0 FTE) Term status Public Health Inspector working in our Smiths Falls Office. This position will provide public health inspection duties in the Infectious Disease Program in a generalized multi-disciplinary health programs setting, with a focus on Ontario Public Health Standards in particular the Infectious and Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Standard and accompanying protocols. This position reports to Kim McCann, Manager of Population Health. The position is from June 10, 2024 to August 25, 2025.Salary Range: $74,920.56 to $83,944.12 annual (1.0 FTE), plus 13% in lieu of all benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; those with a degree in a program of instruction approved by the Board of Certification CIPHI;Current Certification by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors;Experience with Infection Prevention and Control, iPHIS, case management of Diseases of Public Health Significance, outbreak management, inspection of personal services settingsDemonstrated knowledge and skill in health promotion, and illness and injury prevention strategies (individuals, groups and populations), coalition building and community partnerships;Demonstrated knowledge of public health sciences;Demonstrated skill in the use of community development, social marketing and public policy strategies;Excellent interpersonal, communication and public relations skills, with capacity to relate to a wide variety of partners internal and external;Excellent written and oral communication skills;Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, flexibility, leadership and decision making skills;Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and with other community agencies as well as independently with minimal supervision;Two years of public health inspection experience within the past 5 years;Work constructively and contribute to a harmonious and effective work environment;Handle work in a professional manner with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality;Strong time management and organizational skills, able to deal with many competing demands in a calm, professional and independent manner;Solid problem-solving abilities, ability to set priorities and manage conflicting demands;Careful attention to detail;Knowledge and proficiency in use of the Internet and various computer programs in a Windows environment;Current immunization in accordance with Health Unit Policy III_5-0_6, including annual influenza immunization as directed by the Medical Officer of Health;Criminal record check;Valid driver has licence and access to a reliable vehicle.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in IPACA Current membership in CIPHI(C)Please apply by 4:30 PM on May 3, 2024.Send your resume and letter of application to ##### , identifying how you meet the required qualifications.
