As part of the Public Giving & Communications team, the Public Fundraising Officer will play a vital part in delivering excellent supporter care and relationship building to ensure that supporters feel part of a community committed to fighting avoidable blindness and, in turn, continue to give their much-valued support.This role is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to build relationships with supporters on a long-term basis. As the first point of contact for many supporters, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the fundraising team and must be willing to go the extra mile to meet supporters’ expectations. You will be a positive, energetic person who enjoys talking to people on the phone as well as being highly organised and quick to learn.Your friendly “can do” attitude will ensure everyone who contacts Orbis has a positive experience and is made to feel good about all they do to support our sight-saving work. Understanding the role that good supporter care plays in fundraising is crucial.Title: Public Fundraising OfficerDepartment: Public Giving & Communications division, within the Fundraising & Communications directorate.Reports to: Supporter Engagement ManagerLocation: London, UK (near Charing Cross). Two days per week in officeContract: Full time, 37.5 hours per week permanentSalary: £27K to £29K per annum, subject to experienceThe main responsibilities of this role include:Respond to supporter queries and feedback across telephone, email, letter or via Orbis UK’s paid social advertising channels. Ensure supporters receive a great experience and feel happy to continue supporting Orbis in future.Oversee and deliver thank you communications in response to donations.Record and respond to positive and negative feedback when received.Update processes on an ongoing basis to ensure they are as efficient as possible.
