Job DescriptionCentrepoint seeks a dynamic Public Affairs Manager to drive our mission of ending youth homelessness. As the UK's leading charity for homeless young people, we support over 14,000 individuals annually, offering housing and employment opportunities. Operating primarily in London, Manchester, Yorkshire, and the North East, we also collaborate with numerous organisations nationwide while advocating for homeless youth at the policy level.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement public affairs activities aligned with Centrepoint's 'Change the Story' Strategy.- Amplify Centrepoint's voice in Parliament and political spheres, fostering relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.- Manage a contact program for Parliamentarians, facilitating dialogue on issues relevant to Centrepoint and youth homelessness.- Cultivate relationships with think tanks, lobby groups, and other political bodies.- Coordinate with Select Committees and All-Party Parliamentary Groups, providing input and coordinating engagement.- Provide sharp political intelligence, insight, and advice within Centrepoint on political developments and their impact on legislative and regulatory landscapes.- Lead public affairs activities to ensure Centrepoint's voice is heard in policy debates and its reputation is enhanced within political circles.- Support the delivery of Centrepoint's influencing objectives by keeping teams informed of relevant developments in parliament and opportunities to communicate with key decision-makers.About You:The ideal candidate possesses:Minimum of five years' experience in public affairs, with a robust network of contacts.Deep understanding of UK political structures and legislative processes.Proven ability to navigate sensitive political relationships in a regulated environment.Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in team leadershipAnalytical mind able to cut through complex issues to see the big picture.Experience of operating effectively in a complex environment with multiple agendas and stakeholdersExperience of supporting and leading a team.Join us in making a difference in the lives of homeless youth.
