Psychology Teacher (Long-Term Cover) 



Location: Brighton, East Sussex 




Type: Long-Term Cover

Key Responsibilities: 





  • Deliver engaging and informative Psychology lessons to Key Stage 4 (KS4) and Key Stage 5 (KS5) students, ensuring the curriculum is effectively covered and students are well-prepared for examinations. 


  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore complex psychological theories, concepts, and research methods. 


  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom. 


  • Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. 


  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Psychology department and across other subject areas to enhance cross-curricular links and promote a holistic approach to education. 


  • Engage with parents/guardians to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns or queries in a timely manner. 




Requirements: 





  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification. 


  • Proven experience teaching Psychology at the Key Stage 4 (KS4) and/or Key Stage 5 (KS5) level. 


  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Psychology curriculum, including topics such as cognitive, social, developmental, and biological psychology. 


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students. 


  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively. 


  • Flexibility and adaptability to cover long-term absences and maintain continuity in students' learning experiences.
