Job Description

We are excited to offer a permanent position for a full or part time Psychologist to join a dynamic Psychology department, working across the adult Psychiatric Intensive Care Services (PICU). This is an exciting and interesting role due to the variety and breadth of experience it offers.

Salary: Up to �55,000

Position: Principle Psychologist

Hours: 37.5

Setting: PICU

Location: Manchester

For this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee the implementation of the psychological model across the wards.
  • Collaborate closely with a skilled team of Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, and a wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Conduct assessments, formulations, and a range of brief and impactful interventions.
  • Perform risk assessments and indirect working.
  • Provide consultation and training to the wider staffing team.
  • Support the integration of psychological approaches to patient care.
  • Provide clinical supervision to members of the psychological therapies team setting.

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registration
  • Interest in and knowledge of working psychologically with complex client groups and risk.
  • Experience in working with complex client groups and risk (post-qualification experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Capability to provide supportive and containing assistance to wider teams in a pressured and challenging service.
  • Ability to form positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Interest in working collaboratively within teams.
  • Drive to develop innovative psychological interventions for the client group.
  • Interest in contributing to service development alongside the lead clinician.
