Psychological Wellbeing PractitionerBand 5Job overviewLincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (LPFT) is a Talking Therapies service. The opportunity has arisen for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners based across county. The Service provides evidence based interventions within a stepped care model, for the treatment of people with mild to moderate common mental health problems.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative, which has fundamentally changed the way in which psychological treatments are provided.We are looking for a motivated individuals who is qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner holding the IAPT Low Intensity training course certificate in psychological therapies and Registered with the BABCP or BPS. Please do not apply unless you hold this qualification.For further information regarding the opportunity available please contact Vanessa Randles(Team Coordinator Sleaford) email at ##### Main duties of the jobThe Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide, assessment and treatment of common mental health problems based on the NICE guidance.These include computerised cognitive behavioural therapy, psycho-educational groups and guided self-help; the majority of interventions will be based on a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach.Interventions may be delivered as group work or individual work through telephone contact, computer messaging, email or face-to-face. Regular case management and clinical skills supervision will be provided by qualified supervisors.The service has a strong commitment towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD), staff wellbeing and providing quality services.Post holders will be expected to work at least one evening session a week and possibly Saturdays in the future.Working for our organisationLincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesAccept referrals via agreed protocols within the service this includes paper screeningUndertake patient’s assessments in line with service protocols these can be conducted face to face or telephoneMake decisions on suitability of new patients adhering to the services protocols and refer unsuitable patients to the relevant service or back to the referrer as necessary in conjunction with the live supervisor.Conduct risk and safeguarding assessments, and take appropriate action in line with the organisation’s risk management processes and procedures.Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include; guided self-help, computerised CBT, courses and workshops. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.Adhere to an agreed activity contact relating to the overall number of patient contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenientAttend team meetings, or any other meetings as request by your managerComplete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.Prepare and present clinical information for all patients on their caseload to clinical case management supervisors within the service on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and the clinical governance obligations of the worker, supervisor and service are delivered.Respond to and implement supervision suggestions by supervisors in clinical practice.Engage in and respond to personal development supervision to improve competences and clinical practiceTo work towards/maintain BABCP accreditationPerson specificationSpecial requirementsAbility and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisationQualificationsPost Graduate Certificate in low intervention Psychological TherapiesTraining in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapyPsychology or other health related undergraduate degreePsychology or other health related postgraduate degreeExperienceEvidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problemAble to develop good therapeutic relationships with clientsDemonstrates and understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary careExperience of working in Primary Care ServicesWorked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomesAbility to manage own caseload and timeEvidence of working in the local communitySkillsAbility to evaluate and put in place the effect of trainingExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skillsGood organisational and time management skillsAble to develop good therapeutic relationships with clientsExperience of delivering group interventions As an ethical recruiter we will not pursue applications from red list countries as defined by the World Health Organisation.
