Psychological Wellbeing Advisor/ Staff Counsellor

This is an opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Psychological Therapy Practitioner to join our expanding Staff Psychological Wellbeing Service in a unique and varied role. You will be able to make a real difference to NHS staff, work in a supportive team environment, benefit from flexible working and have the opportunity to contribute to innovative practice and collaborative working. You will be based mainly in Haverfordwest but will also be willing to travel to provide our service across other health boards sites in the 3 counties. We offer a blended model of engagement including the use of virtual platforms as well as face-to-face work, so some home working can be considered. We work to promote and enhance the psychological wellbeing and emotional resilience of all our staff, as part of the wider Organisational Development agenda, to help create a positive, supportive and productive working culture. We now have this opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic Counsellor / Psychological Wellbeing Advisor to join us to provide a range of psychological services to managers, teams and employees. The role is varied and includes: the provision of short-term focused psychological support and therapy contributing to the development, facilitation and evaluation of psycho-educational programmes supporting Stress Risk Assessments and other organisational/team initiatives. A professional qualification in Counselling or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to at least Diploma level is essential along with current membership and full accreditation with an appropriate and recognised professional body (such as the BACP or BABCP). Substantial post qualification experience in multi-disciplinary adult client work is essential, including assessment, brief solution-focused work and experience of workplace counselling. You will also have the skills and confidence to facilitate workshops and training sessions both online and in face-to-face group settings.About usHywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties.
