PRU Teaching assistant

Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated PRU Teaching Assistants to work in PRU provisions based in the Aberdare area.. The schools support learners with a multitude of needs and Vetro Education is looking for PRU Teaching Assistants who have experience working within this environment.
As a PRU Teaching assistant you will have a profound understanding of working with children exhibiting social,Mental and emotional challenging behaviours.
As a PRU Teaching Assistant you will need to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, Active listening skills and the ability to remain calm in stress full situations.
As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.
Overview:

• Title: PRU Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £83.50 per day minimum
• Location: Aberdare
• Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a PRU Teaching Assistant

• Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
• Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
• Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
• Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
• Assist learners at break time with their lunch
• Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
• Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a PRU Teaching Assistant

• At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an PRU setting would be beneficial
• Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
