22nd April, 2024 Full-Time position Join our growing company! Located in Christchurch, NZ We are seeking a Property Manager – Operations | Kaitātai to oversee our Kōawa Halls: Sonoda & Hayashi, Campus Houses and Kirkwood Avenue Hall, within the University of Canterbury, operated by UniLodge. This role will support a range of halls of residence that serve first year university students, short stay accommodation and undergraduate and postgraduate students. If you have previous operational management experience working within complex environments, business development and delivering accommodation with additional experience or interest in working with students, then this is the role for you!
ABOUT THE ROLE Full Time position - 40hrs per week (with some after hours and weekend work required at times) Reporting to the General Manager Portfolio and managing a diverse group of 24/7 operating staff Be a member of the first response team and attend to critical incidents outside of office hours Manage the day-to-day operations including the provision of superior customer service, reporting, budgeting, planning, marketing and owner & stakeholder relations Manage pastoral care matters and critical incidents, referring residents to community and university support networks as required Recruit, manage and develop a team of high performing employees Build and maintain relationships with each key stakeholder group (Universities, parents and internal) Ongoing property management of the hall of residence including inspections and maintenance requests Manage the property’s financial performance Oversee the occupancy and leasing plan for the group of properties Develop, implement, foster, and manage the Residential Life Program Lead the development of short stay and business development procedures across the portfolio ABOUT YOU Previous operations management (preferably in accommodation business) Strong property & leasing management skills Experience in business development and high level of commercial acumen Cultural competency skills and a deep appreciation for Te Ao Māori Previous experience with StarRez property management system or other property management systems (highly regarded) Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to problem solve and manage conflict Financially astute A focus on service and quality with the passion to deliver outstanding experiences Police Vetting Check (required) WHY UNILODGE UniLodge specialise in student accommodation and have been an industry market leader since 1996.
