Job Title: Property Management Accountant



Job Description



We are seeking a skilled Property Management Accountant proficient in using QUBE/MRI Property Management software. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of Property Management Accounting. Our operation involves Client Money Services with NatWest to facilitate handling multiple client designated bank accounts. This role requires the ability to support team members and offer assistance as needed.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare nominal transfers for property management and purchase ledger modules to facilitate CMS bank movements, then upload to NatWest.

  • Reconcile the main bank account and investigate outstanding entries older than three months. Offer support to colleagues for incorrect movements and provide guidance as necessary.

  • Prepare quarterly RICS Global Reconciliations, collaborating with colleagues to address imbalances and make necessary amendments.

  • Compile quarterly Client Rent Statements, validate invoices, and cross-check against entries. Submit statements to Property Managers for approval, distribute to clients, and process BACS/cheque payments.

  • Process 'on account' payments to clients bi-monthly and as required.

  • Submit quarterly VAT statements to Accountants where applicable and reconcile with HMRC.

  • Set up new Clients/Properties/Units/Tenants/Charges/Periodicity of rents.

  • Update tenants regarding rent reviews and lease information. Adjust tenant charges for rent increases, manage lease assignments, tenancy terminations, and create new tenancies.

  • Send demands at appropriate intervals.

  • Manage block management accounts comprehensively, including loading yearly budgets, executing cash calls during the service charge year, reconciling client statements to the general ledger and bank, and flagging timing differences and incorrect postings.

  • Collate year-end service charge accounts, send for Property Manager approval, submit to Accountants for the Accountants Report, and make final adjustments.

  • Address telephone/email queries promptly and maintain current electronic filing systems.

  • Handle card payments over the phone.
