An opportunity to join a company at an interesting time in their journey. For nearly 30 years this business has created a reputation in the fit-out sector. Over the past 8 years they have now created a major projects division that focuses on projects valued �2m - �15m new-builds and cut & carves. Sectors include retail, education, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, offices.

Currently turnover is at �70m and you would be instrumental in growing this. Particularly with a focus on the new-build education element.

The company has been established for many years and a high proportion of their workload is on a repeat basis which is testimony to the quality of project they deliver for their clients. Their core sectors of work include industrial, commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare and education including new-build, fit-out and refurbishment.

As a business they enjoy very good levels of staff retention and have an excellent reputation for investing in the training and development of their employees; they also have excellent routes for career progression for their staff including at Senior Estimator level.

The Role

You will be walking into a well-structured business with layers of management to support you in your new role. There will also be a team of varying level Surveyors to support you and relying on your leadership.

General duties will include:

• Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level
• Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place
• Carry out cost management including forecasting
• Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans and have accountability, along with the project team for the commercial performance and strategy
• Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit
• Actively seek to improve and understand processes and procedures
• Ensure that any main contracts entered have terms and conditions that are appropriate, with commercial risks identified
• Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
• Ensure that good client relationships are fostered
• Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
• Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff
