Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading provider of engineering services for industrial material handling systems to recruit a Project Manager to be based at either of their sites in Adlington or Sunderland with hybrid working.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Projects you will:

Oversee the full project lifecycle and take responsibility for delivery within budget and according to key timeframes.
Support project proposals during bid and pre-contract stages.
Review all project and contractual documents upon assignment to ensure understanding and documentation of requirements.
Develop a Project Execution Plan according to the company procedures and client requirements.
Track project costs, assign budgets, approve spending, and escalate overspends before commitments.
Create and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and identify impacts or opportunities.
Manage project cashflow projections, report negative cashflow or risks to the business.
Coordinate and expedite all project activities to meet schedules, including engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning, and handover.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

HND or equivalent qualification in a technical or engineering discipline
A formal project management qualification, e.g Prince2
At least 3 years' similar experience within a bulk material handling industry such as mining or a refinery would be ideal. Candidates with other related experience will also be considered.

Personal skills

The Project Manager role would suit someone who is:

Technically minded with an ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Had demonstratable experience with projects within a construction environment.
Able to communicate clearly and work alongside a multidisciplinary team.
