We are searching for an engaging, ambitious project manager to join our South Central region as part of our Tunbridge Wells project management team. Your role in this team would be to deliver predominantly industrial, residential and commercial projects in South London, Kent & Sussex and be a key client contact for a range of private and public sector clients.
You will be joining a small but experienced team of Project Managers who work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of 25 based in the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Our Tunbridge Wells team enjoy a positive and collaborative culture which comes with a smaller office, whilst benefitting from the reputation, reach, resources and infrastructure of a global organisation like Gleeds. Your responsibilities will include:Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectivesPositively engaging with customers and developing, growing and maintaining customer relationshipsDelivering high quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our Customer’s requirements.Managing projects and/or programmes to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business proceduresAdministering contracts as a contract administrator, employer’s agent or project manager.Producing and presenting to customersIdentifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the business units activitiesManaging service delivery for profit.Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or may arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.As a Gleeds team member, you will have access to: Opportunities to develop and grow your careerA contributory pension schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeOur Global Travel Scholarship ProgrammeFlexible working arrangementsWho we’re looking forOur Tunbridge Wells team are looking for an engaging, personable and highly organised project manager who enjoys working collaboratively, is capable of running projects and working autonomously, and is comfortable presenting to and communicating with senior stakeholders and clients. You will ideally be RICS, CIOB or APM qualified or be working towards one of these professional memberships, and have experience in new build property, major refurbishments or fit-outs. Experience working for a construction consultancy will be an advantage for you, but we will consider those from client-side, contractor or developer backgrounds too.Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills:To be successful in this role you will need:Sound project management experience, preferably in the built environment.Sound knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniquesAbility to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and/or Project ManagerClear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skillsSound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to work as part of a team.Qualifications MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) orMAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers) orMCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders)Be part of the extraordinaryEvery day at Gleeds, we influence the way people around the world live, work and travel.
