Overview:
Our client is a leading Healthcare organisation who are seeking a Project Manager to join their team in Oxford, UK to lead, motivate and inspire cross functional project teams to deliver new products or develop new technologies in line with strategic road map and deliver these projects on time, to quality and achieve cost targets.
Role:
To plan and control project spend to set budgets.
To interface and liaise with SCM, Strategic Procurement, Quality, Customer Support, Regulatory and Suppliers to achieve project objectives.
To ensure appropriate skills and resources are available to meet project objectives.
To use state of the art project management methodologies/tools.
People Management:
Motivate, lead and inspire multi project teams to deliver project milestones on time; to ensure sufficient skill sets are available in the project team; ensure sufficient resources are available.
Risk Management:
Plan and mitigate project risks to acceptable levels to ensure project objectives and deliverables are achieved on time. Ensures appropriate tools are used, ie, FMEAs, hazard analysis.
Customer Management:
Provide excellent communication skills to plan, coordinate and liaise with the customer for decision making process and providing advice.
Project Control and Reporting:
Provide accurate project reports on status against milestones including financial control within set budgets to all stakeholders and product cost targets.
Business Specific Knowledge:
Good understanding of technologies being applied to new products to assess risks and challenge implementation when appropriate.
Contract and Partner Management:
Prepares and controls contracts for development suppliers to ensure technology project deliverables are on time, to quality and achieve cost targets.
Project Delivery and Completion
: Delivery of a system design, to schedule, by managing the resources of a cross-functional team to ensure deliveries meet the schedule agreed with the external and internal customers.
Maintain Business Processes:
Ownership of and adherence to appropriate business processes and ensure / promote process compliance.
Product Cost Target:
Facilitate discussions towards agreement on the breakdown of cost targets across competency groups. Maintain and report the status of product costs throughout the project development cycle.
Project Management Tools:
Ensures state of the art project management methodologies and tools are employed at all stages of the project, i.e., use of PM @Siemens recommendations and compliance.
Prototype Management:
Define and execute a comprehensive prototype management plan, including scheduling and resource allocation.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to procure necessary materials, components, and equipment for prototyping activities.
Oversee prototype assembly, testing, and validation, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Monitor and report progress on prototype builds, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact project delivery.
Transition to Operations:
Collaborate closely with engineering, operation, logistic and material analyst teams to plan and execute the transition of prototypes into operational environments.
DFMA:
Develop and implement DFMA strategies to optimise product designs for cost-effective manufacturing and assembly.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure early consideration of manufacturability and assembly requirements in the product development lifecycle.
Identify opportunities for design simplification, standardisation, and modularization to enhance production efficiency.
Experience & Skills:
Technologies: Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas, at expert level:
Superconducting magnet design
Cryogenic and pressure vessel design
Electronics and Software
MR system components and interactions
Manufacturing and prototype construction
Methodologies: Knowledge and experience in all the following areas, at expert level:
Project planning and control, financial management, and reporting
Leadership and People Management
PM@Siemens role certification
Risk management
Corporate Governance e.g., H&S, SOX, Regulation & Legislation.
Team Leadership
Strong knowledge of DFMA principles, design optimisation techniques, and manufacturing processes.
Professional Knowledge and experience in all the following skills, at advanced level:
Communication Skills.
