Project Manager

Job DescriptionIntroduction:Our client, a global market leader for intelligent technology solutions are looking for a Project Manager / Key Account Manager to join their team in South Wales. This is a new role for the business where you’ll be required to visit their customer sites and support the Project / Account Management function.Summary:In this role, you will be accountable for the delivery of projects, identifying revenue opportunities, and effectively managing contractual relationships. The ability to influence through persuasion and building strong relationships both internally and externally is essential to success in this role.You will be responsible for managing complex diverse automation projects and for ensuring that detailed project plans are established and aligned to agreed budgets and KPIs.It is advantageous that the Project manager has the skill to technically challenge statement and decisions made by their teams and the customer.Duties and Responsibilities:Effective leadership and management of multiple projectsObtain full handover of information from Sales and ensure buy-in and support of functional managers (Procurement / Supply Chain / Engineering / Manufacturing / Installations).Proactively identify risk areas, document, and effectively mitigate by implementation of contingency actionsUse MS Projects & PMP principles to plan and monitor the projectsSales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services whilst exploring new opportunities with customersSkills, Experience and Qualifications:Sound engineering knowledge and understandingCommercially aware with demonstrable understanding of risk managementProficient in the use of MS ProjectsProject management experience (minimum 5 years)Previous experience in either of the following industries: Automation or Automotive, HNC, Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)Valid UK driving licenseTrained in Prince2 principles
