Project Manager - Power / Substation - Up to £85,000 DOE + Comprehensive Benefits Package
First Task Professional are delighted to be working on an opportunity for Contractor who have a very strong foothold in the Transmission & Distribution, Substations, Pharma & Data Centre industries across the UK and Europe.
They currently have a requirement for a Project Manager to deliver substation projects across Scotland.
The role is paying a market leading salary and is looking for a fully fledged project manager ideally with substation
Project Start-Up:
- Organize and lead the transition of the project from the estimating department to the construction team.
- Validate the project and develop a business plan, cost control system, cash flow projections, and billing schedules.
- Create project safety and quality plans.
- Arrange the mobilization of subcontractors and labor as per the business plan.
- Set up the site establishment.
Project Running Phase:
- Continuously assess on-site management competencies and develop training plans for staff and operatives needing development.
- Conduct ongoing audits and reporting of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures.
- Perform regular audits and reporting of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Ensure adherence to the project schedule, manage material deliveries, and oversee engineering processes.
- Hold progress meetings with subcontractors, ensuring that safety and training topics are covered.
- Promptly inform the client of any potential project risks.
- Measure productivity on a weekly basis and maintain control over project progress.
- Escalate any project issues to the Operations Manager (OM).
- Implement the 30-minute reporting rule.
- Submit monthly internal reports to the OM.
Project Completion:
- Ensure testing and commissioning are conducted according to the Quality Plan.
- Complete and certify all 'life systems' in time for the handover date.
- Demonstrate all systems to the client and the District Surveyor.
- Hand over the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual and record drawings.
- Prepare the final account with the Quantity Surveyor (QS), submit, and agree with the client in line with company objectives.
- Demobilize the site team and establishment in coordination with the OM.
- Produce and submit a project close-out report to the OM.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience with a main or T&D contractor.
- Essential experience in managing substations.
- Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary project team.
- Willingness to travel across the UK, particularly between Glasgow and London offices.
