Project Engineering Manager- Contract- Hybrid- Cumbria- Outside of Scope of IR35
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an Project Engineering Manager to join a leading Construction and Engineering company on a long term contract basis.

The Project Engineering Manager will oversee all project engineering projects during the design phase within the Decommissioning Delivery Partnership (DDP) Framework. They will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and specifications. You also will oversee all aspects of project engineering across multiple disciplines, including new building construction, demolition, decommissioning, CE&I (Control, Electrical & Instrumentation), and mechanical installations. The majority of the work will be performed by subcontractors, requiring effective management and integration of various project elements.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage project engineering activities during the design phase, ensuring alignment with project objectives and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Oversee the work of subcontractors, including civil, CE&I, and mechanical contractors, to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries and engineering-related issues, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project engineering management, ideally within the nuclear or construction industry.
  • Strong technical background in civil engineering, with experience in other disciplines (CE&I, mechanical) considered advantageous.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
