The Role:
Support Project and Programme Managers, leading the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, providing expertise to ensure effective project management and risk mitigation in the successful delivery of the assigned projects.
As Project Engineer, you will take on the responsibility of defining project scopes, managing schedules, monitoring project financials and implementing robust risk management strategies, adhering to governance and applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support and lead the planning, execution and delivery of projects across diverse sectors (On-Track Machines / On Track Plant, Infrastructures, Signalling, Track) in the rail Industry ensuring seamless execution with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Develop comprehensive scopes of work, project schedules and budgets to guide successful project deliverables
Oversee project finances and adeptly manage project-related risks to ensure adherence to budgets
Identify and escalate project delivery risks, with skilled management of project reporting to enable transparent communication and well-informed decision-making
Efficient project schedule and resource management, defining and managing interfaces, multiple stakeholders between programme activities, identifying and de-risking critical path activities
Lead project compliance, governance and legislation promoting streamlined project delivery and adherence to best practices
Uphold contract compliance, health and safety standards, and evidence-based assessments
Drive sustainability practices into project execution
Essential Skills/ Knowledge:
The following attributes are considered essential for the role;
Experience in applying CSM-REA process
Substantial experience in project management, preferably within the renewable energy or rail industry
Adept at developing and managing project scopes and schedules
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk management and reporting
Proficiency in project financial management, budgeting, and financial risk assessment
Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate project risks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration and reporting with consideration for wider business implications
Familiarity with contracting processes and adherence to contract compliance protocols
Understanding of health and safety regulations and evidence assessment for health and safety
