Overview
As part of our client’s strategic growth plan, we are recruiting a talented Project Engineer to join their Project Engineering Team. The Projects department is responsible for delivering our client's capital projects schemes. From multi-million-pound plants to smaller works, our projects span heavy industrial crushing plants to automated bagging plants, covering various sectors including chemical, biological, quarrying, and stone processing. As a Project Engineer, you will lead projects from conception to handover, ensuring robust, technically sound, and H&S compliant solutions. Your role encompasses managing safe working practices, adhering to regulations, and ensuring project delivery within defined scopes.
Responsibilities
Manage project delivery within defined parameters of time, cost, and quality.
Efficiently manage change and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Conduct feasibility studies and compile budget estimates for new plant projects.
Supervise contract work and labour, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.
Maintain project records and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Liaise with stakeholders to obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers.
Mentor junior project engineers and provide technical expertise.
Compliance with Company Management System (CMS) and policies.
Ensuring health, safety, environmental, and sustainability practices.
Maintaining confidentiality and minimizing environmental impact.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Minimum Qualifications: HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Project Engineering
Apprenticeship: Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Regulations: Understanding of statutory regulations (LOLER, PUWER, etc.) and NEBOSH certificate
Experience: Experience in leading capital projects and managing contractors
Skills: Budget management skills and proficiency in AutoCAD
Computer Literacy: MS Office proficiency
