Role Overview:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Pre-Construction Project Director to oversee our EV charging projects from inception to initiation. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-construction activities, including site visibility, surveys, legal aspects, onboarding of contractors, project management, sales and operations coordination, and engagement with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Network Operators (INDOs). Additionally, this role requires a strong focus on networking, relationship building, and a determined personality to drive project success.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site visibility assessments to determine project feasibility and requirements.
Coordinate surveys and assessments to gather necessary data for project planning and execution.
Manage legal aspects related to site acquisition, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the onboarding process for contractors and subcontractors involved in pre-construction activities.
Lead and manage pre-construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Coordinate sales and operations activities, aligning project timelines with business objectives.
Engage with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Network Operators (INDOs) to facilitate project integration and grid connection.
Proactively network and build relationships with key stakeholders, including DNOs, INDOs, suppliers, and industry partners.
Take a hands-on approach to relationship development, including phone calls, meetings, and events.
Drive the development and maintenance of strong relationships to support project success.
Demonstrate determination and perseverance to overcome challenges and achieve project goals.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in pre-construction project management, preferably in the EV charging, Construction, or renewable energy sector.
Strong understanding of site assessment, legal requirements, and project planning processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering results on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working with DNOs, INDOs, and other regulatory bodies in the energy industry.
Proven networking abilities with a track record of forging successful relationships.
Determined and resilient personality, capable of overcoming obstacles and driving project success.
