Project Cost AccountantSalary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)Hours: Full time - 35 hoursContract: PermanentLocation: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)The West Brom are looking to recruit a Project Cost Accountant on a permanent contract. The individual will support the Project Accountant in cost analysis and control of project budgets, particularly as we embark on a large transformation Program. Maintain oversight and financial controls for key projects, and the delivery of the Society's transformation programme. This includes periodic reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis.The post holder will be responsible for ensuring accurate financials and financial opinion for project business cases submitted to Committee. Provide financial challenge.Key Responsibilities:Provide financial challenge and analysis to business cases. Support the project accountant and project managers., and work closely with PMO (Project Management Office).Oversee the delivery of accurate and consistent project reporting information. Employment of techniques, such as net present value / payback / supplier assessments, tax advice and to provide supporting financial analysis to each business case.Reporting on the Society's transformation budget and project budgets, on a milestone / annual / lifetime basis, and annual budget, creating analysist of multiple project budgets and resource plans, refining forecasts as necessary within the agreed change control framework.Advise on the allocation of project expenditure between capital and revenue items, in accordance with the requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Performing post-implementation financial reviews to confirm the realisation of business benefits.Support the initiation of continual review and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure that the financial control requirements of the business are met.Support the timesheets process, challenging Project Managers and tasking them with accountability.Skills and Experience Required:Project accounting or costing experience.A professional accountancy qualification - ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or finalistHighly numerate and literate with strong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to challenge and influence financial decision making.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge, engage and present confidently; effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to influence key decisionsThis is a technically complex role requiring an in-depth accounting knowledge to include NPV & IRR and Research & Development tax knowledge.Advanced level of competency with Microsoft products, particularly MS Excel.Knowledge of Unit4 (Agresso) would be an advantage.What's in it for you?We wholeheartedly believe that our people are our greatest asset, that's why in addition to your salary you will be rewarded with a wide range of other benefits:Generous annual leave starting at 25 days + 8 bank holidays, (pro rata)Pension scheme where we will augment your contribution by 0.6% (Up to 10.6%)Social club membership - dozens of discounts available for a wide variety of family days out and eventsPerformance related pay schemeCorporate health plan with the option to include family membersDiscounted travel cardsLife assurance provided by the Society at 4 times your salaryWhen we say our people are the West Brom's biggest asset that doesn't mean just viewing them as employees.
