People Know How is looking for two Project Coordinators to join our team and support schools in the Edinburgh area.The successful applicant will be responsible for working as part of the Positive Transitions
team, supporting children, young people and their families in the transition from primary to secondary school. The role supports our strategic aim of ensuring a positive school transition for all children across Scotland. We deliver services locally in Edinburgh and the Lothians and engage in researchand campaigning to effect change on a national scale. We also provide a national digital support helpline. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new project that aims to actively improve the healthof children and their families, and their understanding and interest in the environment and biodiversity. Theproject will span four Primary Schools in Rosyth. Where children will learn and participate in their schoolssowing, planting, growing, harvesting, tasting, and cooking fruit and vegetables. They will take this learninghome – growing and cooking and eating fruit and vegetables at home.You will join an Education Officer and a Project Support Officer and be supported by the General Manager of EATSRosyth. The gardener will lead on the planning, creating and maintaining of the growing spaced in the 4 RosythPrimary Schools . Example of some of the main duties will include:Work with the Education Officer and schools to design and create the growing spaces.Prepare the growingaspects of the project, with the Education Officer, and plan to meet the agreed timescales of the educationprogramme.Maintain the growing spaces within each school and manage the soil fertility, crop rotation,sowing, irrigation, pest and disease control etc.Prepare for the education programme lessons so thatthe Education Officer has the necessary equipment and materials ready to use with the children.Workwith the Project Administrator Officer to support how the project is communicated, for example takingphotographs for promotion on social media.Involve families and carers in the project and work with themthrough out.Please see the job description for more details and we warmly welcome inquiries by email at #####

The post holder will signpost groups to relevant funding opportunities, support them throughthe application process and act as a liaison between community groups, local authority and funders. They willalso administer Fife Climate Hub’s Community Climate Grants scheme.
