We are looking for individuals who share our beliefs and are keen to make a change.Bond Bryan are seeking a talented Project Architect to join our growing team in Birmingham who will be responsible for design and development of several residential, commercial, and educational projects across the UK.This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious Project Architect with a proven track record of working on multiple projects across a variety of sectors to join our expanding team in Birmingham, delivering a constantly expanding portfolio of exciting work.Our team of creative designers are based in the heart of Birmingham City centre, just 10 minutes’ walk from New Street Station.THE ROLEWe are seeking an ambitious and creative candidate to work in this key role within our design team. The candidate will have the ability to work well in teams and autonomously to manage and deliver major projects.As a Project Architect you will work directly with our Director and Associate Directors on the design and development of projects - from concept stage right through to the completion.The role as Project Architect, will be both leading an “in house” team of architectural staff and an external design team comprising sub-consultants for large educational and commercial schemes.DEVELOPING THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNWhat can you expect?Lead the briefing process. Record the brief in report form, minutes and by compiling room data sheets.Take responsibility to produce Accommodation Strategies, Feasibility Studies and Utilisation and Area Forecasts.Review and comment on project programmesDevelop Deliverables Schedules for the architectural teams and all associated consultantsObtain quotations for sub-consultants and surveys and appoint as necessaryPrepare concept design sketches and then develop the design by utilising ArchiCADBrief and manage an architectural team to realise design proposals in a drawn formatBrief and manage a Visualiser, culminating in a 3D animation of the projectContribute to the development of the ArchiCAD BIM modelProduce Stage Reports and any other necessary reports required for projectsTake responsibility for the compilation of the Planning Application packageChair, record and minute Design Team meetings and Co-ordination meetingsAttend client project meetings to present architectural designs and reportsLead and co-ordinate the Design Team to achieve deliverablesIn conjunction with the client, develop and produce Room Data SheetsEnsure that the design is kept within the Clients set budget.PREPARING DETAIL DESIGN AND PRODUCTION INFORMATIONAdvise the Project Technician regarding the programming of deliverablesContribute to the detailed design process and co-ordinate detailed design informationWork in conjunction with the contractor for Design & Build projectsAttend Design Team Meetings (DTMs), co-ordination meetings and workshops and present detailed design proposals. Record minutes and prepare any associated documentationReview the Acoustic and Fire reports and incorporate the strategies into the detailed design package.Prepare specifications for construction workPrepare drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals eg Building Regulations.Contribute to design-stage risk assessmentsCONSTRUCTION ON SITEMake site visits and record findings of site observationsAttend DTMs and site meetings, record minutes and prepare associated documentationAs required by the contractor, prepare and present construction drawings/details using ArchiCADRespond to the contractors' requests for InformationPOST CONSTRUCTIONAssist with the production of Construction Record drawings.PROFESSIONAL PRACTICEAdhere to Bond Bryan's internal policies e.g., Quality AssuranceUndertake structured Continued Professional Development (CPD)Uphold the reputation of the Practice at all times to existing customers such that they place repeat business or recommend us to othersAssist with the compilation of bids and tenders.Attend interviews as necessaryLIFE AT BOND BRYANAlongside the opportunity to both work and lead on a variety of exciting projects, the successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, friendly and dynamic architectural practice which puts great emphasis on a healthy work-life balance and encourages a collaborative company culture.A competitive salary (based on experience), alongside a variety of company benefits including: flexible working hours, free fresh fruit, subsidised regular social activities, a health benefits package, pension contributions and health insurance.
