Project Administrator Apprentice

Fixed Term, Full Time

£12,348 per annum rising to £22,072 per annum on the second year

Location: Witham

Working Style: Anywhere worker

Are you looking to take your first step into a role in Project and Administration work? We are looking for a confident, organised and enthusiastic individual to join a new project team to assist with the delivery of Skills Bootcamps.

This is an 'Anywhere Worker' role with an expectation to attend the Witham office 1-2 days per week for team working.

This role is a fixed term contract until 1st February 2026.

The Role:

Adult Community Learning (ACL) is ECC's provider of lifelong learning experiences for Essex residents. ACL offers qualifications to help people move nearer to, enter or progress within the workplace or gain skills to enhance life chances. The service focuses many of its programmes and activities on the hardest to reach communities within Essex. ACL learners have access to a diverse range of accredited and non-accredited courses which encourage creativity, healthy lifestyles, social inclusion and engagement.

ACL have recently been awarded funding for a Skills Bootcamp in the Project Management (construction & the built environment) sector. Previous experience working within this sector is not required.

As the Project Administrator Apprentice, you will be working alongside the Project Lead, assisting with all aspects of administration alongside the completion of your Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

This role would be a fantastic start for individuals who would be interested in progressing to a Project Co-Ordinator or Project Administration role upon completion of the apprenticeship.

About You:

  • Ideally you will be educated to Grade C/4 in maths and English
  • Experience in a working environment is helpful, but not essential
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate that you are enthusiastic, personable and willing to learn
  • An understanding of the importance of good customer service
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good phone manner is needed along with a friendly approach
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • A "can do" attitude is a must

Essential Requirements for the role:

  • Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English (or equivalent), which is a Grade D/E or 2/3 to begin the apprenticeship and the ability to reach a Level 2 Functional Skills in both Maths & English by the End Point Assessment (EPA), if you do not already have this
  • Have the right to work and study in England
  • Have been ordinarily resident in the UK or EEA for three years before the apprenticeship start date

What will you be doing?

  • Maintaining information in databases and spreadsheets with up-to-date relevant information, maintaining good attention to detail
  • Liaise with stakeholders, learners, and other professionals. This could be via email, phone or in person
  • Create reports as and when required
  • Provide support with various aspects of early years courses and apprenticeship marketing. This could include social media posts, creating flyers and posters, talking to employers or applicants on the phone and writing case studies
  • Assist the Project Lead with reports and general administration tasks
  • Carry out other relevant tasks as identified
