Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Programme Manager for our Education Technology business. The candidate should have similar client-facing experience in a large software / consulting company. Please note, this position requires travelling to customer locations and offices.The objective of the role is to ensure major initiatives - with substantial software delivery elements - are planned and on-track. This includes all aspects of the project - in addition to the technical components - in order to deliver value as quickly as possible for the business. The Programme Manager will regularly report on progress, financials and plans to customers and senior stakeholders; both in writing and in person.The Programme Manager will liaise with technical delivery managers and other senior internal department heads to formulate plans and manage those plans to time and budget. The Programme Manager will ensure that estimates are managed to and time tracked against core and change requests. When time relates to billing the Programme Manager will work with finance and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are achieved. Some projects will be for external customers. The Programme Manager will lead customer meetings on timelines, deliverables, risk and commercial matters.Key responsibilities:The main point of contact for assigned initiatives and selected programmes of workUnderstand the full scope of projects and ensure that activities reflect delivery of those objectivesFormulate, document and track credible delivery plans with stakeholdersCoordinate delivery of projects through internal teamsEnsure that plans are kept on track by actively managing stakeholders responsible for delivery - especially engineering, product, marketing and operationsDeliver to line manager, sponsors or senior management regular updates on status of all assigned customer relationships, and support the business in determining optimum strategies to strengthen that relationship, increase share of wallet, and capture new business in line with company objectivesIdentifies and manages riskEnsure projects achieve financial return through timely deliveryUse systems of record (Jira, Timesheets) to ensure correct attribution of time to initiativesTrack and manage relationship between actuals and estimates - managing stakeholders on the impact of deltas (change requests, inaccurate estimating, client delays etc.)RequirementsManagement of multiple concurrent custom software delivery projects for external customers - software engineering effort of 1000 days plus per projectProduce high quality plans and other project documentationManage detailed project financials and plansSenior stakeholder management - board levelLeads senior customer meetingsProducing high quality project documentation and presentationsExperience with consulting / outsourcing company in similar roleOccasional international travel might be required
