Overall purpose of role
The Programme Manager is fundamental to our mission to create an environment of effective delivery and has a broad range of business and technical skills to create a high level outcome for the stakeholder.The ideal Programme Manager is someone who can:
Oversee delivery of multiple projects/workstream packages, ensuring they achieve their outcomes to plan
Manage business case and programme governance
Ensure that programmes deliver agreed outcomes
Monitors and proactively manages financials, RAIDs and resource requirements
Partners the Accountable Executive
Delivers in line with Policies and Standards
Key Accountabilities
E2E planning and delivery management to agreed plan
Business case management
Change management
Governance and reporting
Outcomes and benefits management
Risk and issue management
Programme Resource plan and capacity management
Stakeholder and communications management
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Stakeholders reach is mainly internal and spans across multiple internal areas, potentially firmwide
Great interpersonal skills are fundamental to building relationships
The role will also be required to lead working teams of varying levels within the organisation and that do not report into the role
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The role will involve the set up of programmes and/or underlying workstreams from initiation, through to ownership of planning and execution/delivery.This will require elements of advanced problem solving, evaluative judgement and analysis.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate with, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels, taking account of their levels of influence and interest.
Ability to identify, define, evaluate, plan, track and realise the outcomes and benefits of change initiatives. This includes undertaking a realistic assessment of what is achievable by when.
Ability to identify and monitor risks and issues, to plan and implement appropriate responses for mitigation or resolution, including escalations and early resolution
Capacity to inspire, coach and empower others to deliver on a shared vision and outcomes for transformational change: setting an example and building strong relationships.
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Experience of delivering complex change
Experience of delivering F2B transformational change (client, business, operations, technology – with medium to high degree of technology change)
Ability of delivering transformation change in Corporate, Cards and Payments
Experience of delivering change using agile techniques
Knowledge of Barclays standard change delivery processes
