Summary
As a Professional Services Manager within our optical business, your primary objective is to facilitate the seamless dissemination of knowledge and expertise across internal and external teams. Your role is multifaceted, encompassing the training of both internal staff and external partners on the intricacies of optical lens dispensing and the interpretation of industry white papers.
Experience & Education-Essential
• Thorough understanding of ophthalmic lens manufacturing processes
• Thorough knowledge of Hoya Lens products and services
• Experience of working in optical retail
• Hold a qualification as an Qualified Dispenser or Optometrist (SMC Tech considered)
• IT Knowledge of Excel/ PowerPoint and other Microsoft products.
• Commercially aware

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organisational ability.
• Focused, self-motivated and pro-active.
• Presentation skills
• You are an optics professional.
• You have a minimum of 10 years of field experience in the optics industry. You master the fundamentals of medical visits.
• You also have qualities and experience as a trainer and can demonstrate pedagogy.
• To carry out this mission, you must demonstrate autonomy, initiative, good interpersonal skills, rigor, and organization.
• You hold a valid driver's license and are mobile for frequent travel.
• Pro-active development of own business knowledge including managerial and specialist knowledge and skills, undertaking any necessary self-development actions and identifying development needs.
Main Responsibilities/Main Tasks
Your main mission:
• Faculty organization and attendance
• CET – Creation, registration and submission and delivery of CPD for GOC registrants
• Analysing white papers to interpret into understandable conclusions.
• Non adaptation technical queries from both Customer Services, Customers and Sales teams.
• Competitor analysis including new products and latest developments.
• Internal /External Technical training both creation, accreditation and delivery.
• Attend Lens Expert meetings both locally and internationally.
• Supporting Marketing Dept with magazine articles and press releases
• University strategy and relationships, through building relationships with organisations, governing bodies and universities.
• Build and support the KOL network.
• Supporting BDM visits to customers and onboarding of new team members including Myopia Consultants.
• Have a passion for Myopia management and disseminate new product innovations and clinical papers to specialist team members and the wider team.
• Attending and playing an active role with professional body meetings including the OSA.
• Provide training for ophthalmologists and opticians.
• Participate in trade shows and organize professional events.
• VRM and VRP- Understand and be able to train the team on New Media such as digital measuring devices and practice applications.
