Closing date - 30 April 2024About The RoleStevenage Football Club Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, talented, confident and hard-working individual to join the coaching team at The Lamex Stadium. Currently in League one and operating a Category Three Academy, Stevenage is an ideal club for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic coach, who loves the game and takes great pride in the professional development of young players and themselves. Working within the Academy structure the successful candidate will be able to accelerate their coaching by working with a great variety of players from U16-U20 and in very close proximity to our the first team.The role includes overseeing the delivery of the U16-U20 coaching programme. Working closely with the Academy Manager, Head of Coaching and other lead phase coaches to ensure departmental performance targets are maintained and achieved. The successful applicant will manage, support and oversee all operations of the Professional Development Phase, work with the coaches within this Phase to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions in accordance with the Club Philosophy.The role includes overseeing the monitoring of any academy players out on loan to senior football.About The CandidateRoles Responsibilities and Key DutiesCoachingManage and support the day to day operations of the phaseWork with other coaches in the Academy Management Team to develop and maintain designated area of the EPPPWork with the Professional Development Phase staff to plan, deliver and evaluate every coaching session in accordance with the Academy philosophy and coaching programme.Ensure that the training programme is clearly planned and executed to develop ‘Independent Operators’ through Individually assigned Learning Plans and Session considerations.Evaluate coaching sessions, documenting achievements of learning objectives and progress of individuals.Ensure Learning Objectives are attained across the Micro/Meso and Macro periodsMaintain an open, multi-disciplinary approach to your daily tasks and liaise frequently with sport science, medicine and recruitment.Ensure frequent evaluation of staff, players and the coaching syllabusEnsure the coaching vocabulary and coaching methods are maintained throughout sessions.Upload and Maintain evidence on PMA.Communicate professionally with parents, players and staff on a regular basis.Develop and maintain a positive learning environment to maximise each players learning potential.Match DaysAttend required match day venues and ensure match day planning is maintained.Document individual player planning for match daysMake sure staff emphasise learning objectives during their interventions using existing vocabulary and match day processesEnsure the coaching vocabulary is regularly used on match dayEnsure evaluations of match days take placeArrange additional games as deemed necessary to maintain performance targets within the department.Demonstrate impeccable touchline behaviour and take a lead on ensuring the same from staff and spectators.Liaise with GK coach to maintain relationships with the GK’s in your phase.PLEASE NOTE:The person appointed to this post will have contact with children.
