Production & Workshop Supervisor position

The Solution Group are recruiting on behalf of our client who are a growing company that has an expanding order book. Based in Essex, specialising in the Design, Manufacture, Installation,
Sales, Repair & Examination of Lifting, Securing & Height Safety Equipment.

We are looking for an experienced structural steel and welding fabrication
Production & Workshop Supervisor, that understands how to keep a busy steel
fabrication workshop moving safely and efficiently.
Duties will include:
• Supervising the day to day schedule of a busy steel fabrication
workshop.
• Working with operations manager to program and prioritise the
manufacturing schedule.
• Prioritising the workforce to meet changing deadlines and site deliveries.
• Review fabrication drawings prior to issuing to the workshop.
• Working with Designers to identify issues and resolve problems.
• Completing quality checks prior to delivery.
• Improving job management and workplace organisation practices to
ensure compliance with health and safety and quality practices.
• Motivating and supporting staff and assisting with training reviews.
• Completing workshop briefings and toolbox talks.
• Managing and re-ordering stock of welding consumables and
equipment.
• Issuing and monitoring workshop PPE.
• Control of manufacturing documents and records in accordance with our
EN1090 & ISO9001 management systems.
• Preparing for workshop audits for our EN1090, ISO9001 & ISO45001
management systems.
Our client has a varied and specialised range of products and services. This role will
give the successful candidate the opportunity to move away from standard
construction and house building steelwork, and be challenged with new
products and projects.
