This award winning and world-renowned company are looking for a Production Team leader who is experience working with lean manufacturing concepts and is able to provide team leadership cover for their production cell leaders site wide.

The right Production Team leader will have strong man management skills, be able to monitor and drive performance, have experience in assuring continual high-quality products and maintain delivery times.

Salary: £33,000 to £35,000

Production Team Leader Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Team Leader the Production Team Leader will be responsible for safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes, ensuring all products are made in line with company and customer requirements.

You will lead and motivate a team of production operatives in line with company values, providing support to achieve 85% OEE on all processes, and high levels of customer service to achieve a delivery target of 99% and above. This will include responsibility for clear communication up and down the supply chain and with internal customers, labour resourcing, order planning and stock levels for the production cell. Additional tasks and responsibilities will include:

* First stage labour management

* First level people development and performance management

* Identifying and developing initiatives to progressively improve the processes within the Department in line with the businesses five-year plan

* Maintaining and developing visual management boards

* Ownership of department KPIs such as H&S, 5s, OEE and labour

* Monitoring stock movements and ensuring stock accuracy

* Hosting daily production meetings

* Preparing for and delivering effective weekly team meetings

* First line quality assurance including the management of non-conformances

* Idea generation and implementing cost savings for the production line

The right Production Team Leader will be:

* Strong people skills with an ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-volume production environment demonstrating the 5E leadership behaviours

* Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm with a good work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills

* An understanding of lean manufacturing principles and techniques

* An understanding of logistics and supply chains

* An organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure

* Good problem-solving capacity and ability to work on own initiative

* Background of machine operating, or engineering is desirable

* Experience in leading and motivating a team in a high-volume production environment

* An ability to liaise effectively with other employees, including those at senior management level

* A high level of IT literacy, including knowledge of ERP systems, Excel and Outlook

Working hours

The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday on a two-week shift pattern. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount
