About Our Client Our client have a fantastic reputation and can offer a fantastic working environment and career progression. They are currently looking to add a Production Shift Manager to their team.
Job DescriptionThe role will:Provide operational leadership to the shift team to ensure that they are engaged and equipped with the skills, knowledge and guidance to deliver individual and team objectives.Implement short to medium term operational decisions as developed by the Process Manager to ensure the best cost is achieved through efficient raw material processing.Manage maintenance plan and budget, as agreed with the relevant Production Engineer and Engineering Manager, for a specific area of the site.Manage reactive and proactive engineering to prescribed engineering standards.Improve overall capability levels within the team by holding meaningful development and succession conversations with team members.Ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to on shift to facilitate standardisation across the site.Propose and support the implementation of approved continuous improvement or capital projects to reduce the cost base, maintain personal and food safety, and ensure legal compliance.Work in partnership with the other Shift Managers and technical experts to ensure best practice is identified, captured, shared and implemented.Provide safety leadership, developing a culture leading to zero lost time injuries, and ensure all shift activities comply with regulatory environmental requirements and support good neighbourhood relations.Understand the site contingency plans and lead site incident response until a member of the Factory Leadership Team is on site.
The Successful Applicant Candidates should be:Qualified with NEBOSH general certificate.Knowledgeable on Lean Manufacturing techniques.Understanding of behavioural based safety leadership.Highly experienced and have previous work experience in a complex FMCG manufacturing environment.Competent in leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team.An effective an effective problem solver, with experience of fault diagnosis and continuous improvement.Familiar with owning / running budgets and the re-forecasting processHolding a track record of working across teams to deliver continuous improvements.Results driven in a commercial and operational environment.Able to provide 'hands on' support and leadership.Comfortable working an 8 hour rotating shift pattern, including earlies, afternoons and nights.Please contact Natalie Hudson at Michael Page Birmingham.
