Salary - £33,000 - £35,000

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)

Location:  Skipton

We are looking for a Production Shift Manager to manage a multi-disciplined manufacturing unit, covering thermoforming and extrusion. The materials used are PET which are extruded onsite.who, together are responsible for leading, effective planning and managing all aspects of our production areas. The Production Shift Manager will be coordinating customer orders for the production function to ensure effective quality, service and cost optimisation for all product sorting, selection and packaging within your department as an effective part of the overall route to market.

The successful Production Shift Manager will need to be conscious of minimising waste and maximising labour utilisation, along with ensuring quality standards are maintained requires an experienced hands on people manager capable of leading, motivating and monitoring a team of production operatives and team leaders in line with business KPIs and production targets.

The production Shift Manager would adopt a learning and development approach, you’ll work to enhance your team’s capability, ensuring they have the tools and skills to do their job effectively, enabling them to develop and reach their full potential. The production Shift Manager will need to have understanding of the principles and practices of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

Skills required for the Production Shift Manager 

• The Production Shift Manager will need to have experience working within a factory/manufacturing environment
• Will need to have previous experience in previous production shift manager/supervisor roles
• The Production Shift Manager MUST come from an FMCG background - PREFERABLY PLASTICS
• The Production Shift Manager MUST have strong Leadership & People skills - running appraisals, producing development plans, being involved in the recruitment process.
• Take responsibility of the quality of product
• Monitor the production output and plan accordingly
• Proven ability to plan resources, time, budgets and responsibilities according to results requirement whilst taking the bigger picture into consideration.
• The production shift Manager should have good IT skills - utilising Microsoft Office suite
