Production Operative



Production Operative must be able to:




  • Travel to ML4

  • Work Monday - Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm



We are the UK’s leading supplier of rope-grown mussels and cultivated Pacific oysters.



Our farmers produce mussels and oysters of the highest quality from the pristine seas of the West Coast of Scotland and the Shetland Isles.



Our shellfish are either prepared as fresh products or made into a superb range of ready-meal dishes for sale in supermarkets and other retail outlets.



We believe the quality of our mussels and oysters lies in the passion our farmers have for shellfish farming and the real care and pride they take during the cultivation process. We are a co-operative, so our farmers engage in every part of the business.



As we continue to grow, we have a requirement for an experienced production operative to join the team at our state-of-the-art facility in Bellshill.



The Production Operative Role & Responsibilities:




  • To carry out factory tasks as instructed by line supervisors/key workers.

  • To understand our product range and processing methods.

  • To be aware of the dependency of factory departments on each other.

  • To be aware of, and achieve, minimum production line throughput requirements, and report anything which affects this aim.

  • To be aware of individual customer product specifications with regard to Quality, weight, and cleanliness.

  • To be aware of our regulations in respect of dress and personal hygiene within the production areas and ensure compliance. Accept the Company’s commitment to formal hygiene training for all employees as detailed in the Food Safety Act 1990.

  • To undertake training as instructed within Company training plans to develop skills applicable to specific functions.

  • To be familiar with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and have a diligent approach to such matters within the factory areas. Accept Employee requirements under COSHH regulations and ensure that all safety precautions are followed when operating and cleaning machinery.

  • Have knowledge of the Company’s organisational structure and recognise your role within it.

  • Be familiar with, and ensure compliance with, Good Manufacturing Practices in relation to the food industry i.e. “Clean as you go” and “Good House-keeping”.

  • To carry out such duties as may be required.

  • To represent us in a professional manner, to have a pleasant and enthusiastic outlook, and to have a flexible and co-operative approach to specific tasks.



Shift:




  • Our standard hours of work are Monday - Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm
