Frontline Recruitment Weymouth is seeking a Production Operative to join our client based outside of Dorchester.



Operative – Band C / Department - All Production and Warehouse Areas / Responsible to Line Leader/ Supervisor / Manager (as appropriate)



Purpose: To operate and monitor production and/or warehouse equipment as per the company’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to achieve product that is within internal and external specifications and within critical control points (CCP’s).



Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:



1.Undertake tasks in the production areas as required including sealing product and checking for any quality issues, taking samples, monitoring and recording results as required



2.Undertake tasks on and off-site ensuring stock levels, system accuracy and food safety standards are maintained at all times.



3.Contributing to improvements in quality and performance targets.



4.Operate machinery such as bowl choppers, extruders and cutting equipment correctly and safely according to SOP and report any issues where machinery does not work correctly or is unsafe to operate. Conduct machine part changeovers and asset care programs in conjunction with Engineering team.



5.Use business systems, such as QIS and NAV to accurately manage production & cleaning records for product safety and integrity – including CCP checks.



6.Closely monitor production quality and adjusting equipment settings to meet specification



7.Support less experienced team members to ensure plans are being followed, improve job knowledge and pass on information between shifts and departments and raising exceptions to your Line Leader / Supervisor.



8.To carry out any other work or task determined to be within your level of competence, to meet the needs of the business.



9.Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Food Safety, Authenticity, Legality and Quality Standards.



Training/Qualifications:



Essential:



•4 GCSE’s (grade 4 or above including Math’s & English Literature and English Language) Competent in using Microsoft software packages



•Knowledge and experience gained in operating within a food manufacturing environment



•Food Hygiene – Level 2.



•Manual Handling



•Forklift Certificate (relevant to area of work)





Desirable:



•NVQ Level 2



•People Management Training



•Understanding of continuous improvement



•Able to work in a role that has physical demands





Skills/Aptitude:



Good verbal and legible written communication



•Basic knowledge and understanding of operational processes and procedures



•Flexible and adaptable approach



•Methodical and good attention to detail

Remuneration & Benefits



Rate of pay - £12.80per hour.



Contractual Hours – January – June 42.5 / July – December 45 per week (Monday to Friday).



Holiday entitlement – 30 days per annum (including Public & Bank Holidays in England & Wales) rising to 31 days after attaining 10 years continuous service.



Pension – 5% Employee/5% Employer contribution.



Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary (after completion of 3 months service)
