Frontline Recruitment Weymouth are looking for a Production Operative for our client based outside of Dorchester.



Operative – Band A / Department - All Production and Warehouse Areas / Responsible to Line Leader.



Purpose: To operate and monitor production equipment as per the company’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to achieve product that is within internal and external specifications.



Key Responsibilities:



Under guidance from the Line Leader



1.Operating and monitoring production equipment safely



2.Bagging and sealing product and checking for foreign body contaminants.



3.Undertaking manual handling tasks including hand stacking product/packing into boxes and onto pallets.



4.Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards



5.Using safe working practices and relevant documentation to carry out tasks relevant to the area such as moving pallets, products and waste between areas using manual pallet movers, electric pallet movers or forklift trucks.



6.Undertake cleaning tasks relevant to the area.



7.To carry out any other work or task determined to be within your level of competence, to meet the needs of the business.



8.Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Food Safety, Authenticity, Legality and Quality Standards.



Training/Qualifications:



Essential:



•Functional (basic) Maths – Level 1



•Functional English Skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) – Level 1



•Manual Handling



•Basic Computer Skills



Desirable:



•Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment



•Awareness of continuous improvement



•Food Hygiene – Level 2. Training will be given if not already held.



•Forklift certificate



•Able to work in a role that has physical demands



Skills/Aptitude:



•Hardworking, flexible approach, able to follow instructions, willingness to learn new tasks.

Rate of pay - £12.05 per hour.



Contractual Hours – January – June 42.5 / July – December 45 per week (Monday to Friday).



Holiday entitlement – 30 days per annum (including Public & Bank Holidays in England & Wales) rising to 31 days after attaining 10 years continuous service.



Pension – 5% Employee/5% Employer contribution.



Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary (after completion of 3 months service)
