2020 Recruitment are seeking a talented Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing operations of our Glenrothes based client. The Production Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of production plans, driving process improvements, and optimizing efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering manufacturing processes and proven leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment.



The Role



As the Production Manager you will lead and manage all aspects of the production process, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources to meet production targets and customer requirements.



Duties & Responsibilities



As the Production Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:




  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs while maintaining strict adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.

  • Supervise and mentor production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to drive process improvements, resolve production issues, and implement best practices.

  • Monitor production performance and KPIs, analysing data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and maximize productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

  • Manage production budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve cost targets and maximize profitability.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and market developments, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and growth within the production process.



Requirements



To be considered for the Production Manager role you must have the following experience:




  • Experience in production management within the engineering industry, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of production personnel to achieve common goals.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyse root causes, and implement effective solutions to optimize production performance.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
