Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality bathroom fittings committed to delivering excellence and continuously striving for efficiency. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Improvement Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As a Production Engineering and H&S Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing strategies to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety within our manufacturing processes. Working closely with various stakeholders, including Production Managers, Quality Departments, and Design Teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify targets for quality and efficiency improvements, measure progress and quantify outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to optimize workstation ergonomics, material flow, and productivity measures, while minimizing waste and floor space.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality system requirements, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), identify root causes and address quality trends.
  • Investigate and resolve technical and quality issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Train personnel on manufacturing methods and procedures in alignment with standards.
  • Work closely with Design and Quality Departments to ensure new products and processes are suitable for manufacture.
  • Assist in the design, development, and introduction of new production facilities or processes.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures and manufacturing instructions.
  • Conduct tests and trials to validate products and processes in collaboration with the Design Team.
  • Develop and implement systems for creating bills of materials and part identification.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Purchasing teams.
  • Participate in cost reduction programs and provide expertise at a senior management level.
  • (Optional) Utilize experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Officer to ensure ongoing compliance with health & safety regulations.
  • Resolve actions resulting from external inspections and audits promptly.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Design department on safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems (specify any relevant software if applicable).
