Job Title:�Production Engineer



Salary:��45,000 per annum



Shift Pattern:�Day Shift



Location: Tibshelf,�Derbyshire





Our client, a world leading manufacturing business are looking for a Production Engineer to join their team based in North Derbyshire. The Production Engineer will play a key role in driving systematic improvements in their extrusion and recycling plants. This includes establishing best practices and implementing these in a busy production environment operating continuous shifts.





The individual will have to be motivated, flexible, efficient in execution and able to manage timelines. It is of key importance to work well with the operational teams as well as across the organisation.





The Production Engineer Role:




  • Drive improvement projects in the day to day operations

  • Improve customer service and quality while lifting production efficiency

  • Develop, implement, and train best practices in production

  • Manage technical development projects on new processes, equipment, and products

  • Ensure safety, health, and environment in all activities

  • Liaise with other departments where required like quality planning and customer service

  • Continually striving to identify areas for improvement and to justify and action suitable improvements

  • Be involved in Continuous Improvement activities as they arise

  • Be aware of opportunities to reduce costs and escalate to Shift Manager

  • Participate in overtime as required

  • Comply with all time and attendance targets

  • Maintain high standards of individual housekeeping and 5s





The Production Engineer Candidate:




  • Engineering degree in Mechanics, Metallurgy, Chemistry or similar

  • Data driven and highly numerate and analytical

  • Excellent Excel (macro, Formulas, Graphs), Access and PowerPoint skillset

  • Very good inter personnel skills in dealing with people in a changeling position

  • Demonstrated pursuit of continual improvement

  • Knowledge of Aluminium and Extrusion an advantage. Metallurgy or Chemistry is a distinct advantage or engineering discipline

  • Excellent communicator

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills.

  • Good I.T skills and ERP system

  • Demonstrated flexibility in approach to work demands

  • Working to deadlines under demanding conditions
