THE ROLE
What will you be doing?
Work as part of a BBC production management team,
who take creative ideas and logistically make them happen. You might find yourself working on all the sporting fixtures of the year, making sure everyone has everything they need to film the events – or checking rules and regulations so that film crews can work safely abroad while making the latest nature documentary. Develop hands-on experience of how production works in either TV or Radio.
You may be preparing for shoots, coordinating transport, booking kit and crews, issuing call sheets, managing budgets, and helping in the studio or gallery. Or you may be working as part of the production management teams who crew up the BBCs flagship radio stations and ensure that everyone gets paid. Ensuring everything is documented, filed and in line with privacy and licensing policies. You will support all crew members, talent and contributors, making sure deadlines and budgets are met. And you’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job.
Where does the role lead to?
After the scheme this will typically lead to a role as a Production Management Assistant or Production Coordinator

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must:
Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in September 2024 Be legally allowed to work in the UK full time Have been resident in either the UK or EEA since September 2021 (Not applicable for Scotland & Wales or individuals under the statuses within EP350 such as Homes for Ukraine)

This scheme is aimed at those who have no experience working in the media industry, don’t worry if you don’t have an extensive CV.
It’s not qualifications that will get you a place on this scheme. You may have experience in planning and organising – but what’s more important is that you have potential, and a passion for Production Management.
