Smart Solutions is actively recruiting for a Production and Facilities Manager to join our bespoke glazing manufacturer, based in South Wales, covering the UK and Europe.
Responsible to the Head of Operations, the role of the Production & Facilities Manager is to organise and oversee the manufacturing of glass and the running/maintenance of all machinery and equipment. This is a decision-making role at Operational Leadership Group level.
The Production & Facilities Manager is responsible for the efficient running of all production lines and the quality of the output of glass and other goods. The post holder will collaborate with the Production Planner, Team Leader, Despatch Section Leader to meet daily and monthly targets.
They will also need to liaise across different departments to ensure that these targets are met. This includes Sales and Installation to ensure that product is completed as scheduled. They will also need to liaise with Procurement to ensure future jobs are efficiently planned with a clear understanding and a timescale.
The post holder will also be responsible for the functioning and maintenance of all machinery and equipment within the factory. This will include achieving and maintaining maximum efficiencies as well as any planned maintenance, services or general upkeep/cleaning of the machines and equipment.

Overseeing the day-to-day production plans and liaising across departments
Managing all Production Operatives including training and performance management
Maximise efficiencies on machinery and equipment
Managing Despatch and quality control
Facilities maintenance and planning
Health & Safety/Fire Safety
Job Responsibilities
all Production Operatives to ensure targets are met and performance and capability is monitored.
the delivery of quality to pre-agreed standards.
with managers in other departments to understand requirements and agree schedules to complete jobs required.
with Procurement to ensure all jobs are correctly planned and that there is a clear understanding of each job timescale.
and scheduling planned maintenance to machinery and equipment to ensure that all is maintained and serviced appropriately.
with all Production Operatives on the installation, safe and efficient use, cleaning, and maintenance of all items of machinery and equipment.
timely recommendations on any potential replacement equipment required.
all processes are conducted to be compliant with legislation, regulations, and guidelines. This includes: Conveyor systems, facility checks, electrical installations, machine fitting, calibration, refurbishments, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance and plant installation & improvement work.
and monitoring all health and safety regulations across the factory and storage units. The post holder will be responsible for attending all health and safety meetings and accurately recording meetings and information.

Skills and Requirements
Proven experience at management level, with an exceptional knowledge of production within the glass or construction industry.
Understanding of quality standards and a good knowledge of industry law, rules and guidelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational and leaderships skills
Ability to coach and manage personnel.
Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines or delegate when appropriate, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Familiarity with standard business software, including Excel, Office etc.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
