Job description What you'll Do:
Leading a team delivering for the Cost and Investment Management business stakeholders. It's a critical year with a major change to technology and process planning in January 2025, followed by ongoing support and iterative improvement. An Exciting role managing collaborators across Finance, the wider bank and external suppliers, whilst reporting to the Lab Product Owner ensuring successful delivery of Headline Key Results aligned to business priorities.
You'll also work together with your Lead Engineering counterpart in a 'two-in-a-box' model to jointly lead the product team providing a great value proposition to your stakeholders.
You'll also lead agile multi-disciplinary teams by blending both deep domain and technical expertise across a number of component and feature teams who build, deploy, and maintain capabilities and services enabling earlier value release for our customers. Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic priorities and be able to articulate a Product Vision and Roadmap to take your collaborators on the journey.
Supports development of Lab or Team OKRs and provides product performance and benefits realisation data
Defines user-stories at Lab or Team level to meet customer needs
Work with Customer Journey Manager to analyse user stories for customer journey improvements
Shape Product vision and roadmap.
Prioritise, refine and manage Lab or Team Product backlog
Accountable for Product change governance (e.g., CMIA / SPFIA) and Business
Readiness activities (e.g., training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) for their respective features, journeys or technology components.
PO’s are accountable but activities to be delivered by the whole ‘team’.
Play a role in developing capabilities within their functional area and invests in personal and team growth through mentoring and other informal methods
Work with Integrators when change is particularly large
Continuously show and prove the value of the team’s outcomes.
Take responsibility to formally grow capabilities within the Finance business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
Hire and grow delivery talent as well as coaching and mentoring colleagues to enable them to reach their full potential.
Play a key role in the transformation of data and its migration from legacy to Google cloud.
About you:
Strength in collaboration as the Finance Platform requires its Labs and Programmes to collaborate in building end-to-end Finance products and services across LBG; so, collaboration needs to be a key part of your DNA.
A Strategic problem solver when defining a product vision and direction in the delivery of a complete product experience from initiation to implementation and support.
Expertise in product ownership and management, proto-typing, building, deploying, and maintaining large scale data solutions.
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary, mixed, geographically distributed teams across the project lifecycle.
An experienced product owner and leader, able to inspire and encourage the best from their teams, who can relate to our customer’s challenges and translate their emotions into real solutions.
Ability to lead a team aligning them toward common goals with conviction, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to communicate, translate and present critical information to multi-skilled people and teams at different levels in the organisation, understanding their differing needs.
A researcher who has a deep understanding of their customers and market with the ability to untangle and interpret the wealth of information into meaningful strategies.
Data domain skills and an understanding of the technology behind your product as well as understanding how it is built and that entails methodologies, processes and tools used to create efficient teams and agile delivery.
Strength in financial management so that you can operate as an accountant for your product.
Co-ordination and management skills to ensure you have a handle on the endless list of tasks, dependencies, risks, and achievements.
Able to show capability to change, evolve and to learn new tools and techniques and help and encourage others to do likewise.
