Product Manager UK
Working Pattern : This is a full-time role. The successful candidate will work from our office in Usk, Monmouthshire 50% of their time, with the rest of their time spent with customers and the salesforce in the field and from their home office. As such, the successful candidate will need to be located within a sensible commuting distance of Usk.
Our Team : Independence Products Ltd (IPL) currently employs ~45 staff, with plans to rapidly expand.

Independence Products Ltd is an established UK supplier of medical devices designed to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic medical conditions. Independence Products was established in 2006 and now has over 45 employees based across the United Kingdom who are all passionate about providing high-quality products that meet the individual needs of our customers.
The Company’s initial focus was on a range of products designed to overcome common problems experienced by patients living with a stoma. Over recent years the focus has been on a commitment to helping dialysis patients to shower safely with the introduction of a range of specialist prescription products for patients receiving dialysis.

The Independence Direct Home Delivery Service was established in 2017. Independence Direct is a trading name of Independence Products Ltd and is dedicated to the supply of specialist medical appliances. The service is free to patients throughout the UK. Both Companies share:

We are expanding our team and are searching for a Product Manager to help shape our approach when engaging healthcare professionals and patients. Along with leading a small and talented team, daily tasks will include:
Product Lifecycle Management
·
Manage the entire product lifecycle, from concept through development and launch to post-market activities. Coordinating all efforts across the company relating to product launch.
·
Monitor product performance and make data-driven suggestions for product enhancements or new product development opportunities.
Market Research and Analysis
·
Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
·
Analyse market data to develop actionable insights for product development.
Product Concept Development
·
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate market insights into product concepts.
·
Create product roadmaps, value propositions, and positioning strategies.
Strategic Planning
·
Develop and execute an upstream marketing strategy that aligns with overall business goals.
·
Identify target customer segments and establish Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
Product Definition
·
Clearly define product requirements, specifications, and features in collaboration with R&D, engineering, and other stakeholders.
·
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Marketing Communication
·
Provide strategic direction, segmentation and targeting for marketing communications.
·
Collaboration on the development of marketing collateral, including product literature, presentations, and digital content.
·
Support the development of marketing campaigns and strategies.
Budget Management
·
Manage the budget for upstream marketing activities, ensuring cost-effective strategies.
Cross-functional Collaboration
·
Work closely with sales, clinical teams, regulatory affairs, R&D, Digital and other relevant departments to ensure product success.
·
Coordinate activities with the downstream marketing team for successful product launches.

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:
·
3-5 Years experience in product management roles in the medical device and or appliance markets
·
Experience of managing product launches across multiple countries.
·
Experience of developing team members through coaching, mentorship and education programmes.
·
A Degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Science, Marketing or Business.
·
Experience with the definition of value propositions and stage-gated product development processes.
·
Experience of working with clinical stakeholders to develop product advocacy to drive adoption
·
Strong analytical skills and a passion for shaping the market changing the standard of minimally invasive surgery and driving business growth.
·
The ability to think creatively and pragmatically and convert product/customer feedback into valuable insights that can help drive the development of new marketing programs.
·
Excellent advocacy and persuasive skills to collaborate with local market and sales teams, influence others, present convincing arguments, and build and maintain extensive KOL networks.
·
The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary.
It would also be helpful if you have:
·
Medical device/ solutions sales or clinical consulting experience is a strong plus.
·
Clinical experience in the operating room or have worked in the hospital / GP practice setting.
·
Knowledge of renal conditions, dialysis, stoma care would be a distinct advantage.
