Network Control is a fast-growing market enabling both energy transition and how we control renewable energy solutions. This key role is all about consulting and collaborating to understand our customer needs and providing tangible solutions to support product development. So you’ll be a credible expert who translates the technical details to both technical and non- technical customer stakeholders right up to senior executive level. Your remit is to identify problems and solve issues and challenges which in turn spear-head the development and implementation of new products, processes, standards and operational plans. SummaryEMS is a part of Network Manager (NM), Hitachi Energy’s real time, mission critical network control solution. EMS application suite consist of advanced network applications (such as State Estimation, Power Flow, Security Analysis, Optimal Power Flow etc. as well as advanced WAMS applications) used to help grid operators to maintain secure, reliable and efficient operation of power systems.The Role 1. Portfolio management
Manages the Transmission Control product portfolio (EMS/SCADA) within the Enterprise Software Solutions Product Group throughout its entire life cycle, with responsibility for product financial targets. Leads continuous business analysis of the existing portfolio and potential new portfolio items as well as contributing to decisions on product obsolescence and end-of life.
2. Product strategy
Translates local market requirements and business unit strategy into global product portfolio. Positioning of the current and future product through market and customer segmentation, and anticipation of needs based on applicable trends. Contributes to the definition of new product line or product portfolio strategies.
3. Market analysis
Analyses and tracks market, technology, competitor and customer requirements related to the product business and determines competitive attributes, prioritization and value proposition. Identifies needs, opportunities, risks and positioning against competition and feeds information to global team as input to decision making.
4. Product business plan
Defines the business plan and approves the pricing model. Makes decisions and approves prioritization of product portfolio development activities.
5. Customer relations
Engages regularly with customers. Manages challenging customer escalations and non-conformities. Background10 years experience in the energy sector within a similar role with a transferable skill-set (Ideally)A relevant bachelor’s or master’s Degree preferablyCommercially and financially aware for pricing and cost control against budgetExceptional interpersonal skills to help integrate technical concepts into viable product portfolio solutions.Solution focused mindset to product development whilst maintaining integrity internally and externally.A technical background in Electrical Engineering specifically aligned to problem solving.Familiar with software development tools for power systemsFlexible to operate across different time zones including a willingness to travel to sites (UK & overseas)Able to collaborate, consult and drive change to reach an end goal whilst keeping stakeholders engaged.Hitachi Energy are pioneers in sustainable energy solutions at a time when it matters most.
