Oxford Nanopore Technologies develops, manufactures, and sells products based on nanopore sequencing technology.
The role of the Operational Product Manager is to ensure the successful release and maintenance of product through its entire life cycle. This includes the release planning of hardware, consumables, and kits from development to supply chain, production, QC, commercial operations, customer service and finally the customer.
The role is ultimately responsible for ensuring our technology is being successfully released, manufactured, and received by customers.
Working with the technical product management group, the role is also responsible for ensuring feedback and resolution of any product complaints and issues into manufacturing and development.
The role aims to bring together different groups and remove silos to achieve company and customer goals. In addition, the role will work across teams on process development and improvement to ensure our company continues to deliver product in a rapid, agile and compliant manner.
As we continue to develop our customer approach, product operations will work closely between the innovation team, customer services and digital teams to develop a seamless customer experience by integrating more user and account management features into the product.
Key responsibilities:
The post holder is responsible for co-ordinating the day-to-day operations related to ONT product manufacturing and order fulfilment to ensure that products are manufactured to the necessary quality standards and to meet customer delivery schedules.
The post holder is also responsible for ensuring the successful use of the product by customers in the field and for gathering customer feedback.
In addition, the post holder is responsible for ensuring that they have suitable qualifications, training, and experience to undertake their duties competently.

As a central role in the ONT organisation, the post holder is expected to work closely with colleagues in teams across the business to make sure the daily, weekly, and monthly goals of the business are understood, aligned, and delivered.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Liaising with all divisions involved in product delivery to customers to ensure that they have the correct information to perform their tasks
Supporting the creation and maintenance of product forecasts and bringing together volume requirements for production, supply chain and customer to ensure all departments have clarity to schedule their tasks
Creating ONT documentation for product item releases
Creating and maintaining ONT Monday projects and Product board
Working with Engineering to introduce ONT packaging updates/implementation items
Implementation of ONT products on to ERP (D365) systems
Working with QA to maintain ONT documentation
Supporting the creation and maintenance of product release timelines
Supporting PM campaigns including Development and early access products
Supporting ONT product marketing campaigns
Escalating ONT product issues to management
Developing frameworks to deliver product to ISO9001 standards
Process improvement
Supporting conference with equipment requirements
Collaborating on PM Operations communications for company updates
Supporting internal training
What we're looking for…
Bachelors Degree
Experience with development, production, or use of nanopore sequencing products
Experience with formal QMS systems, (i.e., ISO9001)
