Selexa Biotech are partnered with a leading instrumentation client with an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Leader / R&D Director to join their Development and Engineering team. The primary function of the role is to manage engineering and technical developments for their new flagship product.
The Opportunity:
Our client provides innovative nanoscale imaging products to leading companies in the semiconductor industry. With the expanding scaling requirements in the semiconductor industry, this technology is increasingly important. The launch of this flagship product together with expansion of the business offers new and exciting opportunities for the right candidate, responsible for multiple projects running con-currently and at different stages of the companies PLM process.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and Duties, to include:
Drive the integral development of the flagship products to deliver the agreed performance requirements, on time, and in budget.
Technical alignment across engineering disciplines and key suppliers to deliver agreed system performance and functionality.
Work with the Senior Programme Manager and functional managers to ensure required resources available to meet the product development timeline with stage gate reviews in accordance with the PLM process.
Manage the integral product development budget together with head of Development & Engineering.
Ensure the integral product cost target is achieved together with head of supply chain management.
Work closely with the product manager and marketing team to align functionality and performance of the product to specific customer requirements to maximise the business for the company.

Education / Qualifications:
PhD in an Engineering or Science discipline preferred or extensive industrial experience with lower technical qualification.
Professional Skills/ Abilities:
Essential:
Strong multi-discipline technical background
Experience in driving product development in a multi-discipline high technology environment.
Experience of working with semiconductor or other complex equipment, such as, aerospace programmes
Demonstrated ability to manage product developments in a complex and fast-moving environment.
Comfortable with technologies used, including servo-mechanics, electronics, and optics.
Ability to effectively interact with engineers and scientists across a broad spectrum of disciplines as well as internal and external stakeholders across the full spread of business functions.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment
Knowledge of Scanning Probe Metrology systems and techniques
Knowledge of metrology systems and techniques
CANDIDATES MUST BE UK BASED.
